Located in the heart of the Poble Nou, one of the areas with the strongest and fastest growth in the city, the Barcelona ME hotel stands proud amidst what has lately become a true contemporary architecture fest. Designed by the renowned French architect Dominique Perraut, the ME Barcelona is just a stone throw away from big masterpieces such as the Agbar Tower or the Poble Nou Central Park, both by Jean NouvellE; as well as social arteries such as the Rambla of Poble Nou or the Olympic Port, or the the classical works of compulsive visit like Gaudi’s Sagrada Família.

With 258 rooms and suites distributed along its 120 metres and 29 floors, this 5 star hotel is, thanks to its impressive structure, a true panoramic viewpoint of the city and its mountains and beaches. Thanks to its visual façade it also works like a mirror and as a source of immense light for the hotel. Taking this Mediterranean light as a reference, the interior design of the hotel’s common areas, plays with straight and simple lines and an intense, albeit controlled, spontaneous outbursts of vivid colour. All of this contributes to suggest the visitor a positive feeling of an exclusive urban and dynamic luxury, presenting a wide and varied offer in gastronomy and leisure services. Thus, we find such spaces like the Sky Food Lounge Bar & Restaurant right by the lobby, where the visitor can relax just by having a drink or cocktail by the terrace, enjoying live musical sessions, or relishing in the delicious and very reasonably priced menus based on Catalan, international and Argentinean cuisine. At night, this same lounge bar turns into a trendy and innovative club at night that hosts internationally acclaimed Djs every night. This gastronomy and leisure offer is completed by the famous restaurant DOS CIELOS by the brothers and famous Catalan chefs Javier and Sergio Torres, and the exclusive and popular ANGELS & KINGS bar from New York, the only in the franchise outside the US. The hotel also has a wide huge terrace with a swimming pool, the exclusive YHI Spa, where one can enjoy the widest range of facial peelings and massages; and a gym with the latest and most advanced equipment for client use only.

Noteworthy of our mentioning is the hotel’s capacity in hosting big events and meetings, either of private or professional nature, in its 12 fully equipped salons with a capacity of up to 400 people; as well as the “Everything’s Possible” service. By pressing one of the room’s telephone’s special keys the client immediately accesses a special service designed to fulfil your every wish and request in a fast and efficient manner. The hotel’s Aura Experience Managers will then assist you in anything; from purchasing tickets for concerts or sport events, to the management or assessment of any personal tasks.

GASTRONOMY

In the hotel’s 24th floor we find the DOS CIELOS restaurant, where chefs Javier and Sergio Torres present their author high cuisine style in an intimate restaurant surrounded by the best views of the mountains, the city and the sea. With a very original open loft-style kitchen in the middle of the dining room, and an also open terrace with views upon the sea, the Torres brothers present a creative cuisine based on the freshness and flavour of organic ingredients, specially grown in the restaurant’s private garden at the hotel’s rooftop in the 30th floor. The DOS CIELOS restaurant is also on Condé Nast Traveller’s hot list for 2009, and is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 13h to 15:30h, and 20:30h to 23h. The restaurant’s terrace, though remains open from 13h to 1h. Furthermore, the hotel also has the aforementioned SKY FOOD LOUNGE BAR & RESTAURANT, where amongst other things, the guest can enjoy original low cost menus; open daily from 7h to 11:30, 13h to 16h, and 19:30 to 23:30.

BAR- LOUNGE

When night falls upon the SKY FOOD LOUNGE BAR, internationally renowned Dj’s present their latest sessions as the guest enjoys a cocktail by the terrace. Open daily from 19h to 1h. Apart from the lounge bar, just by the pool on the 6th floor, we find the ANGELS & KINGS, the popular New York franchise bar property of the rock band’s FALL OUT BOY bassist Pete Wentz. With an elegant decoration rich in dark colours and upholsted classical furniture, the bar has a huge terrace and swimming pool, where guests can enjoy cocktails, tapas and great views in a stylish and glamorous atmosphere. Open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 22h to 5h.

WELLNESS

Exterior urban stainless steel swimming pool with solarium, and YHI SPS, a very complete beauty centre where guests can enjoy a good sauna, Jacuzzi, pressure showers, a hammam and 4 special treatment cabins with an extensive peeling and massage menu. Open Mondays and Tuesdays from 16h to 21h, Wednesdays to Saturdays from 11h to 21h and Sundays from 10h to 15h (upon previous booking).
